I came to Sweden with my family as a young child. During my upbringing in Sweden, I’ve experienced both inclusion and exclusion. Just as with my family, I know that there have come, and will continue to come, people to Sweden with a strong ambition to create a good life for themselves and their families. I also know that a job is an important key to unlock inclusion, which has a ripple effect.
During the summer of 2015, I was in Almedalen and spoke about how I, as Head of Marketing at Comviq, had run a successful business and increased our competitive edge through diversity in our organization. There I met Novare Group’s founder Fredrik Hillelson, who shared the same thoughts and ideas.
Ideas rooted in frustration over the fact that people weren’t given the chance to fulfill their dreams and realize their full potential. Thoughts based on the insight that in this situation lies an opportunity to find commercial success simply by recruiting better, and more diverse. There was a feeling that a lot of Swedish companies didn’t fully understand the opportunities that greater diversity, and recruiting within the talent pool of new Swedes, could present to them.
More exciting discussions followed and together we took our ideas and made them real. Novare Potential – a company with the will to improve the situation for newly arrived Swedes, for hiring companies, and in the end, for Sweden.
