Financial Reporting Operations holds the responsibility for the operative financial reporting process for the individual If Group companies, reserving process and the process for operating expenses.

Within Financial Reporting Operations we have a Local Accounting unit that includes Private, Commercial & Industrial and Baltic Accounting teams. Local Accounting role is to secure good quality financial reporting for all business areas and to harmonize insurance accounting processes across Business Areas and across Nordic-Baltic countries and companies. Close to us we have other functions within Financial Reporting Operations, CFO organization and the Business Areas.

We are now seeking a new leader for the Private Insurance Accounting team.

About the role

As Head of Private Insurance Accounting you will be contributing to If’s financial statement close process on quality, efficiency and speed. Your role is to ensure that our processes are robust, scalable and aligned with our business objectives.

Private Insurance Accounting team consists of accounting professionals in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The team holds the responsibility for BA Private accounting and for Topdanmark business, including involvement in relevant core systems. In addition, the team holds responsibility on operative tax reporting and tax payments as well as accounting for non-insurance entities.

Some of your key responsibilities will be the following:

• To be a leader and a coach of a team of accounting professionals in four Nordic countries
• Securing good knowledge, understanding and control of BA Private financial statements
• Securing good knowledge, understanding and control of Topdanmark business in financial statements
• Securing good understanding of BA Private and Topdanmark business and effective external and internal contacts to ensure that accounting requirements are met
• Ensuring compliance in supervisory reporting for your responsibility area
• Securing effective processes, routines, systems and tools for financial reporting in BA Private and for Topdanmark business

The role is situated in Stockholm and will require som Nordic travelling.

Background & Experience

• Leadership skills to drive an engaged team of finance professionals and you are not afraid to get into details when needed
• Relevant education in economy and finance and at least 10 years of relevant experience on finance, experience on insurance finance is a clear advantage
• Experience in analyzing and commenting on both result and financial position, providing valuable insights to stakeholders
• Understanding of finance processes in a listed company as well as consolidation and group accounting are an advantage
• A structured, analytical and solution-oriented mindset with ability to see the holistic view as well as the details
• strong interest in process development
• Proactive and collaborative approach and an ability to understand different viewpoints and interests
• Ability to explain accounting needs in an understandable way
• Ability to communicate well in English, both orally and in writing

You are an experienced accounting specialist with strong skills on developing accounting processes. You have the ability to deal with complexity, to simplify and clarify topics and drive focused execution of tasks – big and small. You don´t wait for an assignment to come to you but see what needs to be done and come up with ideas on how to do it. You quickly grasp the core of a task and how it fits into the bigger picture, which enables you to focus on the right things in the right way. You are an analytical person who seeks to find solutions, curious to learn new things, self-motivated and challenging yourself to grow.

We also believe you are a team player with an interest to empower people and make them grow by applying a coaching leadership style. You are used to work in a complex delivery setup, have a high integrity and are willing to challenge status quo in a constructive and actionable way. You can build trust and are ambitious to achieve sustained results and are not afraid of making decisions.
