Head of Compensation & Benefits – Saab Surveillance

The Business Area is on an exciting growth journey and is now recruiting a Head of Compensation & Benefits who wants to play a key role in shaping a competitive and engaging Compensation & Benefits strategy and contribute to creating organizational success.
As Head of Compensation & Benefits Surveillance you will lead the development and management of the Compensation Strategy at Surveillance in order to attract, empower and retain employees. You will serve as the business area’s subject matter expert in reward strategy, providing expert guidance on compensation structures, benefits, and market trends. You will ensure that Surveillance compensation structures and reward strategy align with Saab, that they are compliant with legal requirements and that they support the strategic goals and business requirements.
In your role you will work widely across the business and in close collaboration with the Surveillance HR team, Saab's Group Function Compensation & Benefits team, and other key stakeholders to provide strategic input and deliver effective solutions. You will lead and oversee compensation and benefits strategy at all levels—strategic, tactical, and operational—while also engaging, inspiring, and empowering the business.
You will report to the Head of Human Resources for Business Area Surveillance and be a member of the Surveillance HR Management Team. The role can be located in Gothenburg, Stockholm or Linköping.
Responsibilities
- Define, lead, and drive the Compensation & Benefits strategy for the Business Area to ensure alignment with business objectives, market competitiveness, and future workforce needs.
- Conduct regular external benchmarking and internal monitoring.
- Lead the annual Salary Review. Providing strategic leadership in the execution and seamless coordination across key stakeholders.
- Drive and coordinate negotiations with the unions in collaboration with HRBP colleagues.
- Drive and oversee the annual gender mapping analysis.
- Continuously analyze and calibrate relevant data to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and governance, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on all compensation matters.
- Foster a strong Compensation & Benefits culture.
Background and experience
- Seasoned Compensation & Benefits professional with a strong track record in shaping and driving comprehensive rewards strategies.
- Extensive experience in Compensation & Benefits within large organizations, with the ability to lead both strategic and operational initiatives with confidence and impact.
- Expertise in compensation strategies, pay structures, and benefits design.
- Thorough knowledge of Teknikföretagen’s collective agreements, labor laws, and extensive experience in union negotiations.
- Data-driven and analytical approach, using insights and metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and execution capabilities, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English
- Experience with Workday and other HRIS systems is an advantage.
