Global Production Director

We continue to invest in and build on our established production organization and are looking for a proactive and strategic Global Production Director to lead and inspire a team that will play a crucial role in further developing our strong production landscape.
The Role
This is a new role and is being established as a part of our ongoing structural development separating production and operations/logistics into two specialized functions. As you and your team provide dedicated leadership in production, you will strengthen technical excellence, support our innovation pipeline, and secure operational excellence – ensuring ongoing adaptability and reliability as we continue to meet evolving demands and opportunities.
As Global Production Director, you will have a pivotal leadership role where your actions and vision directly impact BabyBjörn’s growth, innovation, and continued reputation for quality. You and your team will be key drivers or of our ongoing roadmap, contributing to how we develop and refine bout our new and classic products. You will work with our established production and capacity strategy to ensure continual improvement, successful launches and that our core products reach families worldwide with the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Together with the team you will lead the ongoing development of our production operating model, owning the end-to-end manufacturing process—from early product development and manufacturability to supplier collaboration and technical advancement. This includes negotiating with global suppliers, driving continuous improvement, and guaranteeing that all production conforms to BabyBjörn’s premium standards.
A central aspect of your mission will be to strengthen and own the production perspective in the product development process, ensuring manufacturability, scalability, and efficiency from the earliest stages of every launch.
As Global Production Director, you report to the CEO and are a key member of the management team. You will collaborate closely with teams in product development, operations, logistics, and commercial regions. The position is based in Lanna, Småland, with regular travel to Stockholm and production partners worldwide.
Who are we looking for?
We welcome applications from experienced production/manufacturing leaders with the following profile:
- University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in global production/manufacturing roles within consumer goods or industrial products preferably with a product base that requires complex industrial design and multiple materials.
- Experience in innovation driven product development
- Deep knowledge of supplier management, quality systems, product development cycles, and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrable track record in leading multi-site/global manufacturing with a focus on scalability, cost, and resilience.
- Experience in sustainable production and supplier auditing is highly meritorious.
- Proven skills in cross-functional leadership, particularly in navigating the interface between production, product development, and operations.
- Excellent English communication abilities (Swedish is meriting but not mandatory).
- Significant experience working closely with external partners and suppliers, ideally in international contexts with varied production technologies/materials (plastic, metal, textile, wood, etc.).
