- Build and manage a structured pipeline of sponsor and portfolio company opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate handling of independence requirements and service-line coordination.
- Provide concise, data-driven updates on deal flow, sector developments and sponsor activity.
- Expand BDO’s network among bankers, lawyers, corporate finance advisers and other relevant intermediaries.
- Represent BDO at relevant private equity and transaction market events.
- Collaborate closely with Nordic, European and global colleagues to support cross-border opportunities.
Background and Experience
- Strong understanding of private equity fund models, sponsor expectations and value-creation levers.
- Relevant experience from sponsor coverage, deal advisory, leveraged finance or transaction services in the Nordic market.
- A proven track record of building and developing relationships with mid-market and upper mid-market private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
- An existing network within Nordic private equity, or a demonstrated ability to build senior relationships with sponsors and key intermediaries.
- Experience coordinating multi-service offerings across areas such as Deals, Consulting, Tax and Audit.
- Good understanding of Nordic deal flow, market practices and cultural dynamics, including consensus-based decision-making, transparency and ESG considerations.
- Ability to turn market intelligence into clear buyer ideas, sector insights, pitches and commercial opportunities.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word. Experience with Power BI is advantageous.
- Experience from financial services, investment banking or a professional-services environment is relevant, particularly in roles covering financial institutions or private equity clients.
Personal characteristics
You are commercially minded, solution-oriented and motivated by building long-term client relationships. You communicate with clarity and credibility, and can translate complex market intelligence into relevant actions for senior stakeholders. You are comfortable operating independently in an evolving environment while collaborating closely with colleagues across countries and service lines. An entrepreneurial, pragmatic approach will be important, together with the ability to balance several priorities and help shape new ways of working.
