Finance Manager

The Järfälla facility is experiencing rapid growth, bringing exciting opportunities and increasing complexity. The unit plays a crucial role in supplying advanced components to Coherent’s vertically integrated platforms. To support growth and harmonize operations across all manufacturing sites, we are transforming our finance function and seeking a Finance Manager.

As Finance Manager, you will oversee all financial activities related to manufacturing processes, including developing and maintaining operational cost models and ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting to support effective decision-making. You will also work closely with the General Manager, Operations, and Production to optimize processes and enhance cost-effectiveness. Your responsibilities include preparing financial models and business cases for R&D and capital investments, identifying key parameters, assessing risks and opportunities, and providing financial guidance for optimal outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial and operational goals, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and lead the Finance team consisting of 4 finance professionals. Additionally, you will contribute to site harmonization and company initiatives, such as new ERP/EPM system implementations, and ensure accurate financial reporting for regulatory compliance.

As Finance Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Group Controlling, have a dotted line to the General Manager, and be part of the Management Team. The position is located at Coherent’s facility in Järfälla.

Background and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of direct experience in financial management roles with a strong understanding of production processes and cost analysis.
• Manufacturing background with in-depth knowledge of cost accounting and principles as well as financial modeling.
• Active participation in change management, e.g. implementation of new systems, tools and significant key process changes.
• Ability and self-initiative to assess current practices and processes, propose changes and quantify financial impact where appropriate, communicate with senior management for agreement and execute.
