Director – Valuation, Corporate Finance

Novare Executive Search

The position

The Director, Valuation will take overall responsibility for the development of BDO Sweden’s valuation business, both commercially and from a quality perspective. The role combines senior-level delivery in complex valuation assignments with a clear mandate to develop the team, the client offering, internal ways of working and the market position of the valuation practice.

The Director will lead and further develop the valuation department, including coaching team members, supporting continued recruitment as the business grows and ensuring effective allocation of resources across projects and teams.

A central part of the role is to drive business development and generate own assignments through the candidate’s network, BDO’s existing marketing channels, seminars and direct dialogue with potential clients. The Director will also contribute actively to cross-selling BDO’s broader service offering, both locally and globally, in close cooperation with the wider Deals team and the firm.

The Director will lead several complex valuation assignments in parallel, including assignments related to M&A transactions, disputes, tax purposes, accounting matters such as purchase price allocations and impairment testing, as well as standalone advisory projects. The role requires the ability to develop assignment strategies, apply analytical and strategic approaches to client challenges and act as a senior advisor in financial and strategic matters.

The position is based in Stockholm and will work closely with partners within Deals, as well as with specialists across BDO’s global network. The role also involves representing the valuation department internally and externally, including in networks and relevant industry contexts.

The Director will have business, budget and result responsibility for the valuation department, with a focus on growth and profitability. The role will also be responsible for developing the department’s offering, methodology and internal processes, including the safe and efficient use of AI, while ensuring high technical quality and consistent delivery in all assignments.
