In 2024, SSC Space launched their newest division, Orbital Launch & Rocket Test (OLRT), with the purpose of developing the satellite launch capability and expanding its rocket engine testing, based on the unique capacities at Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden. These capabilities are of great importance for the development of the global space industry. SSC Space is now recruiting a President OLRT who wants to lead this new division – driving development, sales and innovation.

As President OLRT, you own the P&L for the division and lead the full value chain from business planning to sales, delivery and follow‑up. You will build and lead the OLRT organization, define and execute the division’s strategy and operating model, and ensure that investments in infrastructure and capabilities translate into robust, competitive services. A key part of your mandate is to combine long‑term capability development with disciplined execution and clear commercial focus. In addition to leading OLRT, you are a member of the Executive Committee and contribute actively to the overall strategic direction of the group, with particular attention to the contribution of the OLRT business to the overall strategic goals.

The role reports to the CEO and is part of the Executive Committee. You will lead an organization consisting of 50 people, based in Solna and Kiruna. The position is based at the SSC Space office in Solna, with regular presence at Esrange Space Center as well as international travel.

Background and experience

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Science or a related field.
• At least 15 years of management and leadership experience, preferably from the space sector or adjacent industries such as aerospace, defense, telecom, high‑tech or other complex infrastructure‑driven businesses.
• Documented experience of managing large, complex technical programs, including responsibility for budget, resources and external stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of current and emerging technologies.
• Proven track record of building and leading organizations through growth and change.
• Experience of working in international environments and in close collaboration with institutional stakeholders, commercial customers and partners.
• Experience from environments with strict regulatory and safety requirements is considered an advantage.
• Swedish citizenship is required.
