About MotionTech

MotionTech leverages strategic acquisitions to create a European leader in intralogistics and warehouse automation.

MotionTech's core business is to acquire, own, and develop innovation- and technology-driven prominent players in the intralogistics and warehouse automation sector. Through the collaboration of these essential industry leaders, their objective is to strengthen the individual companies while also leveraging the benefits of a large group to ensure sustainable growth. Their approach to acquisitions is grounded in fostering valuable partnerships driven by entrepreneurially minded individuals. They exclusively target entrepreneur-led enterprises distinguished by robust market standings, strong track records, and enduring competitive strengths.

MotionTech was established by Systematic Growth in 2021, with a clear strategy to become a full solutions and service partner to customers within intralogistics and warehouse automation. MotionTech is continuing to build its position across Europe organically and through acquiring niche leading companies with strong management and owners. Therefore, the company is looking for a competent and self-motivated individual who can take on the responsibility of leading the company's M&A activity.

The position

As Head of M&A, you will play a central role in driving the company’s M&A agenda and be responsible for MotionTech’s acquisition strategy, identifying potential targets, and executing deals that align with the company’s long-term objectives. As MotionTech embarks on an ambitious expansion, your expertise in M&A will be crucial in shaping future success. In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure each acquisition contributes to growth, innovation, and a competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Functionally responsible for leading the Group’s M&A strategy and process.

• Lead the identification and prioritization of acquisition targets.

• Engage and build relationships with owners and senior leaders of target companies.

• Conduct business assessments to evaluate strategic fit and potential synergies in acquisitions.

• Project manage the process from target mapping (linked to strategic priorities) to initial screening, internal pre-transaction review, due diligence, and final closing.

• Serve as MotionTech’s main point of contact for financial advisors — engage and build relationships with external advisors, such as legal firms, investment banks, consultants, etc.

• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders — Group Management, the Board, the owners, banks, etc. It is important that he/she can understand and communicate the financial impact and risks of potential acquisitions and investments and recommend remediation actions.

The Head of M&A has ongoing contact with various stakeholders, including target companies, management, owners, investors, the Board, banks, etc. Therefore, it is fundamental that he/she is a confident and strong communicator who is accustomed to handling different contexts and people. Additionally, the Board consists of experienced and senior individuals, making it important for the Head of M&A to be a mature person who can act credibly in relationships with them.
