As Executive Compensation Lead, you will operate with a significant degree of autonomy while contributing actively to a collaborative team environment. The position requires engagement across the organization and regular interaction with key stakeholders, including Group Management, Group Finance, Group Legal, and Division Management Teams. The role is based at SSAB’s Stockholm office.

 

A critical responsibility in this position is supporting the Remuneration Committee, which convenes three to four times annually. This work, along with preparations for board meetings and annual general meetings, involves a careful and close coordination with the Chairman of the Board, CEO, Executive Vice President – People, Culture and Sustainability, CFO and Legal.

 

Success in this role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization. Strong analytical skills, thorough attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are essential. In addition, a high level of subject matter expertise and an operational mindset are required to excel in this position.

 

SSAB is seeking a candidate who can act as an advisor and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders primarily at  executive levels of the organization. You communicate in a clear and concise manner and are adept at leading constructive dialogues while confidently articulating your perspectives. The ideal candidate combines humility with a strong presence and credibility.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage preparations of material for Remuneration Committee and the Board when required and in close collaboration with Finance and Legal functions.
  • Manage reporting requirements such as Annual Reporting and Remuneration Report including dialog with external auditors to guarantee compliance.
  • Drive the executive compensation market analysis including vendor management.
  • Identify requirements and guide the GFHR C&B team as well as required local specialists to secure executive remuneration compliance.
  • Manage evaluations of roles and positions to ensure compliance and alignment with compensation structures.
  • Assess business needs and suggest improvements of policies, tools and processes within the C&B area.
  • Drive and/or contribute to development of compensation matters that impact variable pay programs for management, for example in the areas of variable pay, pension & benefits. This also includes dialog with business about the strategy, business goals and achievements.
  • Point of contact to external vendors for executive pension, insurances and other benefits and continuously work for efficient processes and collaboration.
  • Share expertise and be active participant in GF HR/C&B work on key projects and common development matters.

 

Profile Requirements

  • Experience from- and a broad/deep toolbox within compensation management.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data analytics tools.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken. (Finnish is an advantage)
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
