Director, Debt Advisory – Energy & Infrastructure

Location: Any Nordic country

Our client is an international strategy and transaction advisory firm with a strong presence in the Nordic energy and infrastructure market. The firm works with boards, executive teams and investors on strategy, M&A and value creation, and now aims to further strengthen its Nordic corporate finance platform by expanding its debt advisory offering.

The role

As Director, Debt Advisory, you will be part of the Nordic Corporate Finance / M&A team with a primary focus on energy and infrastructure clients. In this role you will:

• Originate debt advisory mandates across the Nordic energy and infrastructure market, moving from mainly inbound situations to a more structured and proactive origination approach.
• Build and deepen relationships with infrastructure funds, platform companies, sponsors, banks, debt funds and other lenders, positioning the firm as a long-term partner on both debt and M&A topics.
• Lead debt advisory transactions end to end, from financing strategy and structuring to lender approach, process management, negotiations and closing, working closely with sector and modelling teams.
• Help shape and scale a clear debt advisory offering within the Nordic energy corporate finance platform, including go‑to‑market activities and integration with the broader Nordic and European network.
• Work in a Nordic and pan-European context, collaborating with colleagues across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, as well as with debt advisory teams in larger European hubs.

Profile

Background and experience

• Minimum 10+ years experience in energy and infrastructure financing and/or structured finance.
• Solid experience of structuring and/or originating debt transactions, not only execution.
• Strong understanding of debt markets and instruments for energy and infrastructure assets, including platform companies backed by infrastructure funds.
• Demonstrated ability to generate leads, win debt advisory mandates and lead transactions from origination to closing.
• Experience from different debt markets (incl. private placements/ bonds and sustainability finance) as well as both project and corporate level would be helpful
• Experience working across borders or in international teams, ideally within the Nordics and/or wider Europe.
