As Trade Commissioner & Country Manager you are responsible for the combined results and management of the market. You are responsible for sales and delivery in your market as well as ensuring an engaging, collaborative, and positive high-performance culture. In your role you represent interests of Swedish enterprise and Business Sweden in India. You serve clients and identify where there is new interest and potential. You drive sales and marketing of Business Sweden’s service offerings/product portfolio to existing and potential clients, both in Sweden and in the local market, and you also ensure development of business processes and the organization.
In India, Business Sweden’s state assignment is significant with many exciting and important projects in the making, at the same time the consulting business is strong and experiencing rapid growth. In your role you will manage, plan, and participate in the execution of consulting assignments and you operate from a global perspective to promote the Swedish industry and companies all over the world. You will have very close relations to the Swedish representations in the market. This means that you will be an official representative for Sweden, acting in close collaboration with the Swedish Foreign Service and other organisations.
You will report to the Vice President and Head of Region South and Southeast Asia and be placed at Business Sweden’s office in New Delhi. You will lead one of Business Sweden’s largest and growing organizations with teams based in New Delhi and Bangalore.
Responsibilities
- Representing the interests of Swedish companies and Business Sweden in India
- Selling and marketing Business Sweden's services to existing and potential clients in Sweden, India and the South and Southeast Asia Region
- Maintaining continuous contact with existing and potential clients and stakeholders
- Full Profit & Loss responsibility for Business Sweden in India
- Overall leadership responsibility of a large team and high caliber
- Developing business processes, the organization, and the people
- Operating from a global perspective to promote Swedish industry and companies
- Work in a Team Sweden context collaborating with Swedish Embassy and other governmental institutions
Background & experience
- Master of science in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience from leadership roles in industrial and international companies and/or management consulting
- Documented strong leadership skills with experience of managing a team is required
- You have performed successful strategic sales and have a proven track record of developing customers, deep customer insight and strong negotiation and closing skills
- You have in depth experience from multi stakeholder projects, including government clients (Swedish and non-Swedish)
- Experience of leading leaders
- Experience from engaging a workforce around vision and executing on strategy from a leadership role perspective
- Experience from public procurement and tender management
- Fluency English and Swedish
- Previous experience from working or living internationally is an advantage
- Swedish citizenship is required
