Marketing and Communications Manager for the Sveriges Olympiska Kommitté

Johanna Hemming Appointed New Marketing and Communications Manager for the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK)

“We are confident we’ve found a winner. We look forward to strengthening SOK with Johanna’s energy and extensive experience in brand development, communication, and commercial partnerships,” says SOK Secretary General Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

The Swedish Olympic Committee is currently experiencing a dynamic and eventful period. The bid for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Games is in full swing, and next year brings the Summer Olympics in Paris. As the new Marketing and Communications Manager for SOK, Johanna Hemming will step into a fast-paced environment where her mission will be to develop and strengthen SOK’s brand and revenue streams, while increasing awareness of the Olympic movement in Sweden.

“The Olympic rings are one of the world’s most powerful brands. My job will be to ensure that everyone in Sweden understands the strength they represent and feels a connection to the Olympic movement,” says Johanna Hemming.

Over the past year, Johanna has run her own consultancy but previously spent nine years at the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) as Head of Brand and Communications. She has also held similar positions at organizations such as IOGT-NTO and Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan.

“The record number of applicants for this position reflects the strong interest in the Swedish Olympic Committee and the power of the Olympic rings. However, Johanna stood out with her deep understanding of sports combined with a strong commercial drive—qualities that will be invaluable as we continue to develop our brand and enhance our revenue efforts,” says Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

Johanna Hemming will assume her new role on December 11.
