Hanna Stjärne Appointed New CEO of the Nobel Foundation

Hanna Stjärne has been named the new CEO of the Nobel Foundation, leaving her current role as CEO of SVT at the end of the year. Stjärne has served as CEO of SVT since 2015 and has previously held numerous leadership roles at Sveriges Radio and the newspaper UNT.

“The Nobel Prize, the mission of the Nobel Foundation, and the legacy of Alfred Nobel are more important than ever. Being able to contribute globally to promoting science, literature, and peace initiatives is a privilege and an honor. The Nobel Prize holds a unique status as one of the world’s most significant symbols of knowledge, free expression, and fundamental human rights. I look forward to collaborating with the entire Nobel community to highlight the groundbreaking contributions of the Nobel Prize laureates,” says Hanna Stjärne.

“Hanna Stjärne brings extensive leadership experience from various parts of the media sector, where she has successfully led development initiatives focused on disseminating knowledge and engaging broad audiences. Her skills are ideally suited for advancing the activities surrounding the Nobel Prize, particularly the establishment of a public Nobel Center at Slussen in central Stockholm. I am very much looking forward to working with her,” says Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Chair of the Nobel Foundation.
