The Nobel Prize’s editorial team curates the official digital channels with the mission to inform, engage, and inspire a global audience on the Nobel Prize-awarded achievements and to spark interest in science, literature, and peace-related topics. At the heart of the Nobel Prize’s digital ecosystem is the official website, nobelprize.org, a hub of content on the laureates, discoveries, achievements as well as the Nobel Prize’s expansive outreach activities, destinations, and much more.
About the role
As the Website Content Manager, you will manage all aspects of content production and content maintenance on nobelprize.org. You are responsible for ensuring that the website is in alignment with the Nobel Prize’s brand and strategy, maintaining high editorial standards. This involves thorough research, writing, editing, and proofreading of content in accordance with style guidelines. Additionally, careful selection and resurfacing of content from nobelprize.org’s extensive archive are essential to connect the website’s editorial with current topical matters.
Furthermore, managing and curating other key pages, ranging from educational to story-based landing pages, play a crucial role in engaging the audience effectively. You will be the Editor of the Nobel Prize’s ’Monthly’ newsletter, selecting themes and content.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Working closely with the social media and video teams, plus ongoing liaison/collaboration with colleagues across the Nobel Prize organizations.
- Auditing and fact-checking content for accuracy, constantly updating and improving content.
- Creating content in various formats (quizzes, themed articles, games) and contributing ideas for new editorial formats and general website development.
- Responding to inquiries and following up on corrections from visitors.
- Continuously improving the accessibility of the website and identifying ways to enhance the user experience while tracking industry best practices.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate most likely has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. They should possess a minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Website Editor or in a similar editorial position, preferably with content aimed at a global audience. The role requires excellent writing skills in English; proficiency in Swedish or other languages is advantageous. Familiarity with content management systems, as well as various tools such as Photoshop, is preferred.
The ideal candidate should have a superb eye for detail, coupled with excellent writing and proofreading skills. Additionally, you should be self-driven, highly organized, and possess a strong work ethic. You have the the ability to multitask and preferably have experience in project management.
Furthermore, you should be curious with a strong interest in societal topics and be eager to gain knowledge in the fields related to the Nobel Prize.
This is a full-time permanent position at Nobel Prize Outreach, based in central Stockholm, reporting to the Chief Digital Officer. The work environment is flexible offering the possibility to work from home two days per week.
